DIOCESI – Grande gioia per la comunità cristiana di Consolacion, nell’isola di Cebu, che ha accolto oggi, Martedì 16 Settembre 2025, l’arcivescovo Gianpiero Palmieri, volato per la prima volta nelle Filippine in occasione dei 25 anni dell’apertura delle due comunità di Suore Teresiane nell’arcipelago asiatico.
Ad accompagnarlo in questo lungo ma entusiasmante viaggio è stato don Nicola Spinozzi, parroco di Ripatransone e direttore diocesano dell’Ufficio Missio.
Dopo l’accoglienza calorosa da parte dei bambini della Scuola dell’Infanzia, il vescovo Gianpiero e don Nicola hanno fatto pranzo insieme alla comunità delle Sorelle Teresiane, guidate da Madre Grace Pitogo. Il momento di convivialità è stata anche l’occasione per mons. Palmieri di conoscere meglio le Suore che vivono nell’Isola di Cebu.
“Le prossime ore saranno dedicate al riposo, dopo il lungo viaggio affrontato – dichiarano le Suore Teresiane -. Dopo il colloquio informale di stamattina, nel pomeriggio abbiamo previsto solo due momenti con noi Sorelle: prima, alle ore 17:00, un colloquio più formale con noi Suore; poi, alle ore 18:00, i Vespri e la Messa sempre tra di noi. Domani, invece, avremo un intenso programma da onorare, aperto anche al resto della comunità! Non vediamo l’ora di mostrare al nostro vescovo i nostri conventi, le scuole, le chiese e i luoghi di ritrovo e convivialità! Siamo molto grate al vescovo Gianpiero per essere venuto fin qui a festeggiare con noi i 25 anni dell’apertura delle nostre comunità qui nelle Filippine: è motivo di vera gioia trascorrere questi momenti con lui! Ringraziamo Dio per averci dato l’opportunità di questa condivisione e la possibilità di crescere insieme nella Fede e nella Carità“.
Domani, Mercoledì 17 Settembre, alle ore 9:30, il vescovo Gianpiero presiederà la Celebrazione Eucaristica in Consolacion con tutta la comunità di fedeli riunita. Giovedì 18, invece, si sposterà nell’isola di Bohol per visitare l’altra comunità presente a Tontonan e celebrare anche lì l’Eucaristia.
DIOCESE – Great joy for the Christian community of Consolacion, on the island of Cebu, who today, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, welcomed Archbishop Gianpiero Palmieri, who flew to the Philippines for the first time to mark the 25th anniversary of the opening of the two communities of the Teresian Sisters in the Asian archipelago.
Accompanying him on this long but exciting journey is Father Nicola Spinozzi, priest of Ripatransone and diocesan director of the “Missio” Office.
After a warm welcome from the children of the nursery school, Bishop Gianpiero and Father Nicola shared lunch with the community of the Teresian Sisters, led by Mother Grace Pitogo. The convivial moment also provided Bishop Palmieri with an opportunity to learn more about the Sisters who live on the island of Cebu.
“The next few hours will be dedicated to rest after the long journey,” the Teresian Sisters declared. “After this morning’s informal meeting, we have only two moments planned for the afternoon: first, at 5:00 PM, a more formal meeting with us Sisters; then, at 6:00 PM, Vespers and Mass, again with of us. Tomorrow, however, we will have an intense program that will also involve the rest of the community. We can’t wait to show our bishop our convents, schools, churches, and places of gathering and conviviality! We are very grateful to Bishop Gianpiero for coming all the way here to celebrate with us the 25th anniversary of the opening of our communities here in the Philippines: it is a true joy to spend these moments with him! We thank God for giving us the opportunity to share this and grow together in Faith and Charity“.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17th, at 9:30 a.m., Bishop Gianpiero will preside over the Eucharistic Celebration in Consolacion with the entire community of faithful gathered together. On Thursday the 18th, he will travel to the island of Bohol to visit the other community present in Tontonan and celebrate the Eucharist there as well.
